First of all, the most important news: D.J. (my boyfriend of almost two years) left for basic training this morning. He is going to Fort Knox in Kentucky for his basic, and then Fort Gordon in Georgia for his AIT, where his job will be signal. He joined the National Guard earlier this year. It hasn't really sunk in yet, but I'm praying that time will go by quickly and my turn to leave will be here soon. England will definitely take my mind off things. Here's a picture of us right before he left this morning. I had to wake up at 5am to be in Indianapolis by 7am. We got to see him for a few hours before his bus left, but it left me really physically and emotionally exhausted.
Moving on to another update. I've been pretty sick for the past month, and with what, we aren't sure. They thought it was my gallbladder, but I went to get an ultrasound and it came back normal. I've also been taking medication in case it's an ulcer, but it hasn't helped out that much. I've not been able to eat very much without feeling nauseous for the past month. It's annoying and making me really anxious about eating in Europe. I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday and hopefully we can figure it out soon.
So the haps with Harlaxton. Not much else has changed, except for my flight arrangements. The flight there is still the same, with the tiny difference consisting of I will be flying alone. The return group flight was cancelled and rearranged, so I will be the only one flying on that plane because we scheduled my flight independently. I'm a little nervous about that because I really don't know what I'm doing, but at the same time, I didn't know anyone to begin with and I'll be (hopefully) sleeping the entire time. I'm not wanting to experience jet lag if I can help it. So I will get there before any USI or UE students will. I'm not sure when people from the other colleges will arrive. This also means that my flight home will be different, and I have to leave earlier than everyone else. That kinda sucks. I guess there's another girl who will be flying home back with me, but I don't know if she's flying there with me as well. We are supposed to be getting a packet in the mail full of information, but we haven't yet. I'm excited to read something I haven't memorized yet.
The job is going okay. Making money is good, and they seem to like me. I'm feeling better about the money situation, I'm trying to be better at not spending anything really. Only 37 more days. So weird.
I'm spending as much time as I can with my friends. I'm definitely going to miss them while I'm gone.
Emily and I recorded a video of Alex, and I edited it and took some shots of my house and everything, just in case I get homesick. And I tried to upload it, but it's not working. I'm going to try to figure a way to put it on youtube without it getting taken off, and when I do I will share it with you all.
Well, that's all I have for now. I probably won't update again until my going away party, because nothing much for my trip is going on right now. I hope everyone is having a great summer, and I'm definitely counting down the days until I leave! Love you all.
